THE ISLAND MARKETPLACE
---mile marker 101 bay
side---is one of the first Keys to Peace permanent public placements. With our booth there, we have the opportunity to become a real hub
for peace and community outreach. Already we are the location for the food drop-off spot for a local church food bank, and
we're making arrangements to work with local women's shelters in the area to provide assistance. The opportunities
are endless --- we're just getting started...
The booth is located just about in the center of the space when you come in the door. Items are displayed, and free information
is on the tables when no one is at the booth, but when it's manned there are t-shirts, Rubik's cubes, cups, books,
necklaces, and tons of other neat things to set up and sell. And we have a large lending library at the booth that is there
all the time. Tables are filled with all kinds of great new peace-sign items (bracelets, rings and key-rings), not to
mention the new KTP necklaces. (See below).
The Market's hours are Friday through Sunday, 9 AM - 5 PM, and volunteers are needed for 2 or 3 hour shifts. Contact
Marlene at 850-291-6896 (madcat@bellsouth.net if you want to help.
